Development of Probiotic-Enriched Dairy Products Using Nanobiotechnology

Achievement: A collaborative project with Al-Maha Dairy Company and the University of Petra, this research focuses on producing functional dairy products fortified with probiotics using nanoencapsulation technology. The initiative enhances the nutritional quality and shelf life of Jordanian dairy products, addressing local nutritional needs while promoting sustainable food production and waste reduction. This project directly supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through:

- SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) – Improving public nutrition with probiotic-rich foods.

- SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) – Strengthening local R&D capacity in food biotechnology.

- SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) – Encouraging sustainable manufacturing and reduced food loss.

- SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) – Showcasing a successful academia–industry collaboration.

Mission Statement: Harnessing nanobiotechnology to develop functional probiotic dairy products that enhance community health and support a sustainable Jordanian food industry.
