Nanovaccine

Next-Generation Veterinary Nanovaccine for Small Ruminants

Achievement: Approved and funded by the Scientific Research and Innovation Fund (2025), this pioneering project develops a biodegradable nanoparticle- and mRNA-based vaccine against Clostridium perfringens infections in sheep and goats. Implemented in collaboration with Mobedco Veterinary Pharmaceutical Company, which is prepared to adopt the vaccine for future production, the project employs microfluidic formulation systems to ensure precision and scalability. It contributes to national sustainability by strengthening livestock health, food security, and One Health objectives, while reducing antibiotic use in agriculture. Its sustainability alignment includes:

- SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) – Enhancing animal health and reducing zoonotic risk. - SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) – Building national capacity for advanced vaccine technology.

- SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) – Reducing antibiotic dependence in livestock systems.

- SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) – Linking academia, government, and industry in sustainable innovation.

Mission Statement: Advancing veterinary biotechnology through nanovaccine innovation that supports sustainable livestock farming and national vaccine self-sufficiency.
