Development of a Novel Vitamin C-Enriched Eye-Drop Formulation
Achievement: A research initiative led by Dr. Bahaa Jaber to design and formulate an ophthalmic solution enriched with vitamin C for treating corneal ulcers and post-surgical healing. The formulation demonstrated promising pre-clinical outcomes, accelerating corneal repair and providing strong antioxidant protection. Currently advancing to the next stage of trials in collaboration with pharmaceutical partners, this innovation showcases the faculty’s strength in translating research into commercially viable therapeutics. Its sustainability relevance lies in:
- SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) – Offering safer and more effective ophthalmic treatments. - SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) – Stimulating innovation within Jordan’s pharmaceutical industry.
- SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) – Promoting efficient, low-waste formulation development.
- SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) – Strengthening collaboration between academia and the pharmaceutical sector.
Mission Statement: Developing innovative ophthalmic formulations that improve eye health, promote recovery, and advance Jordan’s pharmaceutical sustainability.
